Palm Sunday
It's Palm Sunday, the day when we remember Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.

This morning I'm thinking about how the crowds were gathered together to celebrate their Messiah, laying palm branches in his path, knowing the king they had waited for so long had finally come (though they didn't yet understand that his triumph wasn't going to be in the way they expected). It's one of my favorite church services of the year...and we can't be together to celebrate it.
What if the crowds couldn't gather together to welcome Jesus into Jerusalem? What if they couldn't joyfully call out with each other, "Hosanna!"? What if they had to each remain in their home, watching out the window for his arrival?
The celebration in their hearts wouldn't be any less. Maybe it would be even more meaningful to each of them because they wouldn't have the opportunity to get swept up in the emotions of the crowd. Rather, they would have to have their belief in Who Jesus is rooted in their hearts, drawing on only their own faith and their own relationship with the Son of God.
So, as we go into this holy week, I'm praying that I'll be able to focus on the joy of knowing Who my savior is and what He came to accomplish, even though I can't celebrate it with other believers right now. I'm praying for you, that you will be able to have joy in spite of our current circumstances, and celebrate this week leading up to Easter.
Hosanna!
Blessed is the the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!
